The Garmin Approach S50 is a mid-range GPS golf smartwatch launched in January 2025. It is designed to sit between the budget-friendly Approach S44 and the premium, flagship Approach S70.

Display & Design: Features a crisp, bright 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen paired with a lightweight slate aluminium bezel and a ComfortFit nylon band. It relies on a responsive touch screen and two side buttons for navigation.
On-Course Capabilities: Comes preloaded with 43,000+ courses worldwide. It includes standard front/middle/back green yardages, hazard/layup distances, and a PinPointer mode for blind shots.
Plays Like Distance: Includes built-in slope adjustments for elevation changes. Unlike the cheaper S44, this feature does not require a subscription on the S50.
Health & Fitness Tracking: Tracks 24/7 wellness metrics including Body Battery, heart rate, sleep monitoring, HRV status, and preloaded multi-sport profiles (running, yoga, strength training).
Battery Life: Delivers up to 10 days in smartwatch mode and up to 15 hours in GPS golf mode (enough to clear a full weekend of golf on a single charge).
